Chelsea are interested in signing Leicester Metropolis defender Wesley Fofana.
Fofana signed a two-12 months agreement extension with Leicester in March. His deal operates right until 2027.
Chelsea have signed Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli and have manufactured tries to carry in Manchester City’s Nathan Ake and Sevilla’s Jules Kounde following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, meanwhile, has admitted he is a “minor bit” annoyed with Barcelona over their pursuit of Cesar Azpilicueta.
The 32-12 months-aged has 12 months remaining on his Chelsea contract and has reportedly requested to leave the club following a ten years at Stamford Bridge to return to his native Spain with Barcelona.
But Tuchel says he is not absolutely sure if he desires to give Azpilicueta “what he wishes”, and thinks Barca have undervalued the defender, comparing his worth to that of modern Chelsea seize Kalidou Koulibaly, who signed for £33m from Napoli previously this month.
When requested at the Universal Orlando Vacation resort, if he has been irritated by the Spanish giants’ pursuit of Azpilicueta, Tuchel replied: “Possibly a very little bit.”
Requested about the Spaniard’s potential, Tuchel claimed: “It is a challenging concern since I am not confident if I want to give Azpi what he wishes.
“At some stage it is about what we want. I just built the comparison about how much we fought for Koulibaly, who is a countrywide workforce participant and roughly the same age.
“He is a massively vital participant for Napoli but we have a Spanish global who is the captain at Chelsea. I see him perhaps at the similar amount but Barcelona you should not see him on that stage. So I am not certain if I want to give him what he wishes as he is a massive participant.
“We you should not imagine so substantially about other clubs. The concentration is on us and what we have to have. I stated that to him and I say it to you that I understand on a personalized and a profession level. But I am not only in this position to give him what he needs. I am a manager for Chelsea who needs to do what’s greatest for Chelsea.
“He won’t like it but he understands. It is challenging for him since the other club is completely on him. On September 1 when things tranquil down, then he can play on his greatest level.”
