Plymouth Argyle’s vital final day of the season showdown with Milton Keynes Dons has been selected for live broadcast on Sky Sports. The game at Home Park kicks off at 12.30pm and has been selected for the broadcast cameras.
The Pilgrims dropped from fifth to sixth place in the table after Sheffield Wednesday rallied from a 2-1 half-time deficit to win 3-2 away to Fleetwood Town on Tuesday night. Wednesday are two points clear of Argyle with an identical goal difference but they have scored six more goals than them, which could be important come the weekend.
Wycombe Wanderers are now seventh in the table after the midweek results, level on points with the Pilgrims and with an inferior goal difference of two. Gareth Ainsworth’s Wycombe are away to 16th-placed Burton Albion in their final match.

What it all means is that, incredibly, the two automatic promotion positions have still to be decided and, therefore, none of the four play-off positions have been settled either. Even a win for Argyle might not be enough to reach the play-offs, if Wycombe were to win by three goals more than the Greens did, and Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday also won.
In their previous meeting – Steven Schumacher’s first game as Argyle manager, which was also broadcast on Sky – the Greens came from behind to secure a draw, courtesy of a second-half Conor Grant strike. It is the second successive game at Home Park to be played in front of the broadcast cameras, following the 0-0 draw against Sunderland earlier this month.
As a result of the selection for live broadcast, video streaming on Argyle TV will be unavailable, although audio commentary will be available as standard, as well as a live pre-match show with Erin Black on the club’s official YouTube channel. Overseas supporters are advised to check their local listings to see where the game is available closer to the time.
