SCHAUMBURG, IL DECEMBER 3, 2022 JACOB DIETRICH
Mokaev has been impressive thus far and the 22 year old is primed to continue his success in hopes of become the next young champion. Mokaev fought three times in 2022 and with his big goals of becoming champ, I expect him to be active again in ’23. “The Punisher” had an extended amateur career and is 32-0 (1 NC) when including his amateur record and he has already called out high profile fighters like Kai Kara-France and Brandon Royval. The flyweight division as we know is in a stand still as we wait on Moreno vs. Figueiredo 4 to happen in January, we will have a long line of contenders like Kara-France, Pantoja, Royval, and more waiting on their title shots but with a major win or two and continuing to be active, Mokaev could find his way into a title fight. Truthfully, I’m hoping Mokaev finds himself looking across the octagon at UFC legend, Cody Garbrandt, if “No Love” decides to stick to 125 lbs.
