Luke Fickell – Winners Only Club
CHICAGO, IL NOVEMBER 29, 2022 GARS
In this new series, I am going to talk about coaches moving on from their former teams where they either thrived or were denied. I don’t think there is a better coach to open up with New Head Coach for the University of Wisconsin Badgers, Luke Fickell. Fickell, who had a very successful campaign at Cincinnati (Bvail’s favorite team) going 62-24, winning 2 AAC Championships, and an astounding 33 wins in the last 3 years. Meanwhile, Wisconsin comes up well short of expectations with a 6-6 record and the firing of Coach Paul Chryst amongst anything. This team has failed to really come up with anything, especially on the offensive side of the ball through the air averaging about 189 yards under the hands of Graham Mertz. However it is worth noting with all their legendary RBs (Ron Dayne , Melvin Gordon, Montee Ball, Johnathon Taylor) the list goes on., Fickell, for a solid half of his coaching career, had a very noteworthy passing attack. In 2021, Desmond Ridder had 3334 passing yards moving that offense up the field in every aspect a fan could dream for. This could be a new look for the Badgers as they could very well add some more playmakers on the field, but more importantly, bring a winning atmosphere back to Camp Randall.
