George Kittle holding no ill will toward Deebo Samuel amid contract, trade rumors

San Francisco 49ers limited end George Kittle states he supports Deebo Samuel amid contract talks.

This offseason, as the top wide receivers throughout the league have been getting new contracts, Deebo Samuel requested a trade from the San Francisco 49ers. On June 26, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler disclosed that Samuel has not officially rescinded his trade request, but did report to workforce minicamp.

49ers restricted conclusion George Kittle appeared on Barstool Sports’ “Bussin’ with the Boys” podcast, hosted by Taylor Lewan and Will Compton, and claimed he supports Samuel in his pursuit of having a new deal.

“It’s the NFL, go get what you deserve dude,” stated Kittle, h/t Sports activities Illustrated. “Deebo justifies to get compensated a great deal of funds, and if they really don’t want to give you a lot of cash, do what you have to have to do.”

Additionally, Kittle did say that if he were being the 49ers, he would have negotiated a deal in-season this earlier year.

“Hindsight is 20-20, correct? And I know nothing at all, I have not talked to John Lynch, Kyle Shanahan or Deebo about it, I have not,” Kittle stated, h/t Audcacy. “I don’t know anything at all. All I know is that in hindsight, I would’ve paid Deebo 3-quarters of the way by means of the year, attempt to do a deal in-time, for absolutely sure. Almost certainly would’ve been less costly. Christian Kirk actually established the industry off.”

Kittle mentions that the extensive receiver sector was reset right after the Jacksonville Jaguars signed previous Arizona Cardinals pass-catcher Christian Kirk to a four-calendar year, $72 million agreement. Since then, all of the prime receivers managed to secure new bargains.

Davante Adams with the Las Vegas Raiders. Tyreek Hill with the Miami Dolphins. Cooper Kupp with the Los Angeles Rams. And that is just a pair of the massive contracts that some of the major names in the league have.

Samuel is coming off of a big marketing campaign with the 49ers, as he caught 77-of-121 targets for 1,405 yards and 6 touchdowns. His 18.2 yards-per-reception was the optimum in the overall league in 2021. Samuel also ran for 365 yards and 8 touchdowns on 59 carries.

Will Samuel and the 49ers be equipped to agree to conditions on a new deal? We will have to hold out and see.
