‘beIN Sports’: Ter Stegen to renew until 2025

For several months, the renewal of Marc-André ter Stegen was a matter of priority at a Barca that began to tremble just thinking about a possible escape from the goalkeeper.

Teams such as Chelsea and Bayern Munich, two giants in world football, were waiting on the possible arrival of the German with open arms, but they are going to miss out.

After several weeks of negotiations and a constant tug of war, everything indicates that Ter Stegen will sign his contract renewal at Barca in the next few days.

This has been confirmed on ‘beIN Sports’ by the Catalan side’s president, Josep María Bartomeu, who has assured that the German will soon sign a deal which will make him remain at the Camp Nou until the end of the 2024-25 season.

It is undoubtedly a great piece of news for FC Barcelona fans, who had seen how the continuity of the goalkeeper was getting complicated because of the club’s financial difficulties due to the coronavirus.

It is worth remembering that Ter Stegen arrived at Barca in the summer of 2014, so if he sees out what will be his new contract, he will have stayed at the club for more than a decade at a team where, for now, he has played 234 matches at 28 years old.
